Does anyone know if the antennas on 68U are the same as on 66U ?

I had a really good experience with 15" replacement of gold 9dBi for my
66U and considering getting another set for 68U

Did you replace all of them, or just 1?

Hi,
Is it dual band antenna?

Hi,

Yes, they are -dual band.
I received this new set just today, 15" long at 9dBi,
I can say that they are much better over the stock ones, at least
on 2.4GHz band. I can't honestly say anything about 5GHz as I am
having issues with it no matter what antennas I am using.
I've got all 3 replaced -got a deal at $11.00 for all 3 (priority shipping included)

where did you buy them? For that price I can get a set and test.

figured id contact him and ask about extending the range and what he recommends, he said id need a repeater. and suggested one e3000 with ddwrt moded casing etc, with a price 80$. but the e300 is not ac, and he said it would cost a lot more for such a repeater :( this is the data I gave him.

My router is an asus ac68U operating on 2.4 and 5.0 , n and ac .

Do you have product on your ebay page that would be best.

My house is approximately 3500 feet, not including the backyard and patio. The router in in the basement near the modem at the center of the house but a few feet to the back.
The current range has dead zones in all corners of the house and two far rooms, it barely makes it to the backyard.

Found this on newegg, on sale. I currently have a 5 port switch upstairs, I could switch it out for this?

Is that upstair switch connected to the router through Ethernet? If so, I would suggest putting the router upstairs instead of the switch - it would probably help a lot with the coverage. There is no problem in having a long Ethernet cable between the modem downstairs and the router upstairs.

I ordered this from Amazon. I'll post my results as soon as I get them

Merlin, what are your thoughts on this type of antenna? Will they really help? I've read they are not really 9dbi antennas as those are really expensive to manufacture and it is impossible their cost is around 10-20 bucks. Despite of that, and given my desperation to improve my 2.4 coverage, I decided to give them a shot given the good feedback people have posted on them. Your wisdom is always very much appreciated. Thanks

No idea, I have no experience in aftermarket antennas. Improved antennas will typically help with coverage - more than just upping the output power, which would do nothing to improve reception, but I can't really advise about which antennas to buy, sorry.

I have these antennas and saw no real improvement on the ac68u or the rt66u I had before this. In both routers I went back to stock antennas as I got more consistency with them. To each their own on these, I imagine for some they will get the improvement they were seeking. For me, at times it may show a slight improvement, in others, it was noticeably worse and it never helped in increasing range, dead spots remained.

the modem is beside the router, and all my ac gear is downstairs, if I put the router upstairs, the db get to 68...
