Apparent buffer overflow on FW .9313 (AC3200)

Looks like Asus forgot to check on the size of the manufacturer name before they copy it into the Network Map. And no, I don't have a satellite dish or anything with that MAC address on my wired network, so there's likely a buffer overflow going on somewhere...

From original designer, there are two issues on this picture:
1. vender information string length : will fix
2. IEEE OUI server is broken.

Again? I think it's the second time the IEEE website gets changed in recent months, breaking this functionality. Might be time to look for using a different OUI database

Or forget the useless DB.

Can someone make a good case for the OUI DB? For me (small home network), it is either interesting or simply confusing. It is definitely not a requirement.

Admittedly, it is interesting though. My DSLAM is apparently some medical device...

The OUI database is an easy way to determine what device belongs to a given MAC address. I've found it useful on numerous occasion. When I want to know if a given IP lease belongs to a test router or to one of my mobile devices, I check its manufacturer.

(I'm the one who originally added it to the firmware BTW).

Seems like the DB lookup should be a click-to-see type item, as I only look at it for unfamiliar devices. Either that, or they make sure not to copy an entire 200-byte string into a 16-byte field.
