Jeff Baumgartner from Light Reading spotted a new Docsis 3.1 modem from Arris with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and EasyMesh on the Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta. The device, named Touchstone mAX, contains two 802.11ax 4x4 radio's, one on 2,4 GHz and one for 5 GHz, along with a single 2,5 GbE port, two 1 gigabit ethernet ports and a USB 3.0 port.
Arris expects to start sampling the product in Q2 2019 and follow with a commercial launch in Q3 2019.
