Seems like it causes unstable WAN connection...

As per my concern I flashed the prior firmware version. Seeing my concern did not seem to go away, I flashed this one back, and surprise, everything has been fine for the last 8 hours (per system log).

I had the same issue, the internet connection became unstable after a short while. I sent feedback to Asus with my logs so hopefully ASUS will release an updated firmware shortly with a fix. I managed to load the previous firmware without issue and everything is working great again.

What did you see in your system log with the new firmware installed if I may ask?

I was seeing strange things after running something to get the port mapping for RTRMON, but on the prior firmware.

I did not check the logs I'm afraid being weary of all the recent work I did to troubleshoot what turned out/seems to be a defective Ethernet cable. Once I saw the red WAN LED I went to the BGW320 gateway to restart the broadband connection. When that did not work after a couple of tries I just proceeded to flash the _40425. Same I restarted the BGW broadband connection but the status was still red. (I'd rather help figure out what is wrong in the current/most up to date firmware so I went back again. I believe this time with the Check for Updates on the web GUI). Everything seemed fine after that.

Did you happen to download this from the website then upload it to the router through Ethernet? The first time I tried was this way, but the second I used check for updates on the Web GUI. (Right now I am not confident which I did first and second), but maybe one had better completion...
