Good day,
I have two ISP and use load balancing on the router.
Lately ive been having alot of issues with my main service provider and do not know when the line is down.

I use a software called Networx on my pc but it will not be able to identify if the ISP goes down.

My setup is, the following
Origianl software and not Merlin.
Fiber ONT device A and Fiber ONT device B connected directly to the router.
TP LINK TL-SG3428XPP-M2
7 x Asus BE35600 mesh routers


I guess if both ISP had routers in between then their might be software to monitor the network.

Asus routers are known for unreliable Dual WAN feature.

AiMesh with 8x routers sound like wrong hardware choice for the task.

So I have a complexed property

I have two sheds which are quite far away and my home has 3 levels.
All routers are connected via cat6 network cable.
I bought it on special and way cheaper than buying poe access points.

What load balancing router would you recommend. TP link load balance routers do not have email notifications

What load balancing router would you recommend.

Ubiquiti gateways have working multi-WAN and whatever you like notifications on acceptable price with GbE, 2.5GbE and 10GbE options. This AiMesh setup was perhaps cheaper, but now you have 8x routers generating a lot of noise on the same channels and perhaps on full power. Fine tuning of this system is practically impossible and the nodes seeing each other wait for their turn to send/receive data.

TP link load balance routers do not have email notifications

They have working multi-WAN though.

You can try using GNuton firmware (a version of asuswrt-merlin) and you can try installing Dual-WAN script:

Had no trouble with dual WAN load balancing for about 1 month AT&T fiber and Giggle fiber (cable modem), back in January 2024. Unstable service is known to cause issues on ASUS routers...

EDIT- But yes it does not warn if one ISP service goes down.

So instead of Ubiquiti UniFi UCG-MAX or ultra, should I rather get tp-link omada oc200 controller and TP-Link Omada Tl R605 router given that I already have a 24 port TP-Link omada 2.5gb managed switch.

Yes! Get the OC200 Controller, but better with ER707-M2 (2.5GbE WAN/LAN) or ER7206 (GbE WAN/LAN) Gateway. Both have better hardware than entry-level ER605. I'm genuinely surprised you haven't done it already to complement the expensive 2.5GbE PoE Omada Switch. For Wi-Fi I would go with 4-stream EAP670 Access Points. They are better than 2-stream dual-band Wi-Fi 7 options.

I recently made the switch to the tp link switch. I was using two D link 16 port poe managed switches which was failing

In terms of internet service, I have two 500mb fibre lines.

The problem for the wifi is that im on 5400 sq feet (5000m2) land that is not level. 4 devices on wifi 7 will not work due to alot of interference
Theoretically the land and buildings creates 5 floors. Concrete, steel, cavity double brick walls
Floors Are
1. Entrance to the property and electrical steel sheed
2. Garage/ workshop
3. Main living area ( main router and two mesh routers
4. Master bedroom and office ( 1 mesh router serves as a switch with wifi channels off)
5. Garden shed, fire place and Garden.

About 80 to 100 iot smart devices are connected across the property

40 poe cameras/ access control ( small 5 port Unmanaged poe switchs



20 Laptops, phones, tablets etc

Anything that can be hardwired has been.

Mmm... 5400 square feet are about 500 square meters. I can't help you with the number of APs needed just based on this short description. Many factors in play including the region. Omada SDN Controller has design tool, may help.

Ive had Asus routers since 2010 and just stuck with it. Last year black friday i paid aprox $1200 USD for all the be98 and the mesh routers. I thought it something i know since im not too clued up and previously I had a mix of routers over the years and issues with isn't

Wifiman says 2.4ghz is at 60% ultalization.

Do you have one of the BE3600 node with Ethernet backhaul? Before you give up on all that investment remove all the BE3600 AiMesh nodes, add the most centralized with Ethernet backhaul as AP with AiMesh, then add the 6 as AiMesh nodes to that BE3600. Try WiFi 7 again. Turn on WiFi Agile Multiband on all bands...

The BE98 and BE3600s won't be on the same channels. The reason for separating is because MLO will not configure on the nodes unless the routers in the mesh have the exact same channels and bandwidths.

It's unclear whether all the BE3600s are wired backhaul. Enabling Ethernet Backhaul Mode would also help if they (all) are...

Black Friday was a long time that they are likely passed the return period. I still think it's worth a shot IMHO...
