ASUS Router App Unable to Detect AsusMerlin

I bought a new phone and after installing the Asus router app on my android phone, I was wasn't able to find my router over Wifi.

The Asus router mobile app is not officially supported on the Asus-Merlin firmware. Certain features will not work, or cannot be changed by the mobile app.

Hi! I’m aware of that. It’s just that I got annoyed when the Asus app couldn’t find my router, which was frustrating. It’s a good app though, as is Merlin’s firmware, which I’ve been using for several years on different routers. Thumbs up for you, Merlin! Anyway, yes, it isn’t supported. So use this at your own risk. What I’m most interested in is being able to restart the router whenever I want, via VPN while I’m travelling, without having to go through the web interface (I’m old). In any case, this works now, whether I restart the router or my mobile. I’m glad about that. And last but not least – Merlin, you’re the best! Maybe one day you could even create a similar app to the Asus Router app – only better, of course.
