Asus RT-AC56U vs. Netgear R7500 page loading

Hi Guys,

maybe someone has a good Idea about this "issue". The Asus Router is at the moment mi first Router as the 3G Modem works with it. I have the the wireless enabled and 2.5 and 5GHz working fine and with my intel card I can transfer around 30 MB/s to a share.

The Netgear I have setup as Access Point and connected the WAN port to one of the LAN ports to the Asus Router. Performance is a bit better as I can get 35 MB/s but that's not the problem :-)

When I connected to the Asus wireless than the page (www) loading sometimes very long, very long. But when I open them with the WiFi connection with the Netgear they get open immediately.

Its sometimes really annoying those Loading times, but I would like to fix this a kind of. Someone has any Ideas ? Just keep in mine the internet connection is connected to the asus and both routers using the same.

Maybe its just about the Hardware what makes the differences as the R7500 has a very powerful processor ?

Thanks for advice's :-)

If you're talking about websites in general, the first thing I would check are your DNS settings.

If it's the router's webui, disable any http filtering feature present in your security software (this is a very common problem with Eset's products for instance).

Thanks for the reply....

The DNS Settings are for both of the router the same as the Netgear is getting the DHCP from the Asus AC56U... so the netgear has a longer way as it needs to pass also the Asus Router (where the LTE Modem is connected).

Netgear R7500 (AP) -> Asus AC56U -> LTE Modem connected to USB Port

On both of them I have all filter disabled, but still the Netgaer is giving a better page feedback / loading times without delay. That`s what I don't get. When I connect directly to the Asus Router the Page loading are horrible slow just waiting sometimes 10 seconds to load a specific site, and the Netgaer gives me all in 2 second (still passing the Asus with the connected LTE Modem).

I disabled all filter stuff, USB disk etc. so its just the ASUS with the LTE Modem connected :-(

I think he is talking about the Web GUI pages if he has the same problem as me. I could not even get past the setup wizard because it would get stuck at every page so I had to bypass it. I would have to hit refresh on every page. I eventually figured out it works much better if on an HTTPS connection.

Thanks for the tip Merlin. I disabled both the firewall and scanner on my ESET and now it works fine.
At first I only disabled the firewall which did no good, so its something with the scanner.

I will post back if I figure out how to exclude it so it works without disabling the scanner.

Any tips for what it is blocking that causes the problem?

no actually I mean to open for example gmx.de which takes much longer when I connect to the Asus router directly (which has the internet connection). When I connect to the netgear router then the page opens much faster.

Sorry then, can't help you. I am going to mess around with my issue and the ESET security and I will make a separate post when I figure something out so I don't hijack this thread on you.
