I guess it's just most people don't want to jump through hoops just to go back to a previous version. And from what I understand coming releases will have no way to roll back. Hope that's not the case but honestly if it's not then I don't see the point of it anyway.

When running this version on my RT-AC68P, I noticed what appeared to be connection degradation when using 5g on my iPhone. The phone was reporting a lower signal strength (fewer Wi-Fi bars) and the router was reporting lower tx connection rates when being used at the same moderate signal strength location. I did note an entry under bug fixes for this version: - Fixed Safari slow response issue, I don't know if that fix may have affected my connection. Reverting back to the previous version alleviated the issue.

This is very bad news. It's sounds like they might have nerfed the signal strength in the latest FCC compliant firmware. The 5Ghz signal strength is already weak. If this is true I definitely won't be updating to the latest firmware unless this gets resolved. Lower wifi signal strength and lower performance is a step backwards.

Has anyone tried this with a modified CFE to remove the region restrictions?
I prefer to use my router as allowed by the UK not a dumbed down "general" implementation or wireless regulation & wonder what this new firmware does in this case?
