Asus RT-AC68U wifi speed

AndersF

New Around Here
I have some issues with the up speed on my new AC68 router.
With the initial .205 FW which the router was delivered with I felt I had pretty Ok speeds compared to what I had before. (gone from 8/1 Mb ADSL and Dlink 655 to 100/100 Cable and Ac68)
When checking I had 57/97 with the wired computer and 7/10 with the laptop on WiFi. Upgrading to .371 FW gave me 109/109 on the wired PC but the wifi stayed the same so I went with the .501 beta and also made a reset of the router. The wired speed stayed at 109/109 the wifi laptop improved to 63/104.
all wireless devices are running at 2.4 GHz as the 5 GHz seems to drop the speed with a couple of Mb:s up/down. They also only runn "N" not "AC".
The Ipad2 does not seem to like the Asus router at all as I initially only had 0,9/7 until I went with the .501 beta FW when I got 7/20.
Any thoughts of why I overall experiencing higher speeds downstreams than upstreams on the wifi?

Edit: The router felt faster at first installation with .205 FW and then dropped. It also seems to run rather warm.

No one? Is it normal to have half the speed downloading compared to uploading over wifi when theres same speed up/down wired?

371 is pretty old now ;) taking into account all the changes...
try Asus 374.542 or Merlin's 36 beta1 (37 has some issues yet)

Jumped to Merliins 37_2 with a small overall improvement but theres still a major difference between down and upspeed. Cpu running at 80-81 degrees (55, 56, 80)
