Anyone (besides me *smile*) use the RT-AX3000 or RT-AX58U in media bridge mode? I tried 43406 and it didn't work right, seemed to disconnect fairly often. Hoping that this new version does work right. I don't want to waste time if it's known not to work, though. Had to revert to 41700 firmware after 43406 didn't work for me. 41700 seems fine, I can stay with it, but would like to go to newer firmware if I can.

Just wanted to indicate that I have upgraded successfully from this default ASUSWRT firmware (386_43588) to the Merlin firmware (386.3_2). No issues found on the RT-AX58U and everything works as expected thus far.

I use my RT-AX58 as a AiMesh Node, but it serves mostly as a wireless media bridge for my work laptop and my desktop. Like you described, I have had some issues with the router either disconnecting from my AT-AC86U or after about 2 weeks I start to loose bandwidth to the point where any client connected gets dial up like speed.

Then I upgraded to 386.43588 and so far it's been 3 weeks and I haven't had a disconnect or degraded bandwidth. Crossing my fingers in hopes that this is the fix we have all been waiting for.
