I eventually turned off using DFS channels with 160MHz, and turned on Auto channel selection,
auto-selected channel 44 and so far it has been working great (have only one notebook that can utilize 160MHs, nice and fast...)

I noticed this and wondered how you managed to get Diversion to run on stock AsusWRT? From what I have seen it is for Merlin only (and this is an official AsusWRT forum). I would like to be able to do the same, if possible. Thanks

386.7 is Merlinware … not stock AsusWRT - which is why @bbunge could run Diversion.
