After months of troubleshooting images not loading and slow websites loading times I came across this post. Downgraded to 3.0.0.4.388_33427 from 3.0.0.4.388_33911 and everything is faster.
Thank you!

The worst part is that ASUS routers come with automatic FW upgrades enabled by default.

I understand that this is intended to deploy security patches quickly on most of the devices, but it is a double-edged sword too, as a botched upgrade will also impact most of the users...

Anyway, they do not seem too concerned with fixing this, and are providing little to no feedback on the corresponding topics on their own forums.

After all these months, it's ridiculous that they still haven't released a proper fix.

I finally switched to another brand, goodbye ASUS!

I wonder if this issue can't be considered as a built-in obsolescence. You get a crippled firmware update which makes you upgrade to the newer model or change the router completely.

EoL? No update since 2025/05/14...

I'm thinking about replacing this router with another Asus with WiFi 6e...
Well, the TUF-AX6000 has not officially been declared End-of-Life, but it is just as if it had been, given the lack of updates indeed.

If you are thinking about replacing the router, why not consider a WiFi 7 one?
Would you still stick to Asus?

Unfortunately, my entire network consists of Asus routers. I would have to remove two or three to free myself from this manufacturer :))
And I don't need WiFi 7.

I see... maybe try your luck with a router that would be compatible with MerlinWRT then, if you are stuck with ASUS. Merlin is updated more frequently, but does not support MediaTek chipsets as found on the TUF-AX6000.

I only mentionned WiFi 7 as a way to kinda future-proof your purchase, but given the limited long-term support from Asus, not sure "future-proof" applies...

I know people tend to easily recommend OpenWRT...
I tried it, and coming up with a working basic setup like a PPPoE connection and local LAN and Wireless network surely is feasible, but more complex setups like having different devices connected to different VPNs are much, much more difficult to configure.
I did not actually manage to replicate my current setup with OpenWRT. The learning curve is pretty steep, the experience heavily relies on the command-line interface through SSH (which is not a bad thing to learn how things really work) and the GUI seemed both overwhemlingly complex and frustratingly limited to me.
