Seems like the main issue introduced with v3.0.0.4.388_33903 on 2025/03/17 still was not resolved with this latest release...

I think I won't even bother testing it following your feedback. Thanks for the time save!

I have the same problem with websites not loading, playing movies on my ASUS TUF-AX4200 router with firmware 3.0.0.4.388_33965.
It seems to me that the router is getting stuck.
Downgrading to the older firmware 3.0.0.4.388_33506 solves the problems.

Thank you @Unhappy ASUS user, indeed all Asus routers based on MediaTek chipsets (VS Broadcomm) are affected by the same issue since a FW release dating back to March 2025.

Many/most here have reverted to the version prior to the one that brought the loading issues, with possible security issues involved as the latest stable version is about one year old at this point. Another option would be to install open source firmware (OpenWRT), which comes with a learning curve.

There are likely many more users affected and not knowing what is going on, since automatic FW upgrades are enables by default. It took me weeks of troubleshooting before I ended up identifying the router as the culprit, then I found the related posts on the forums. I originally suspected my PiHole setup, as the issues really look like website DNS resolution issues.

I am currently trying the latest version following Volt's posts on the thread dedicated to this latest FW revision but on the AX59U: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/a...0-0-4-388_33965-2025-10-23.95996/#post-974391 He seemed to encounter no issues until 7 days into testing.

It happenned to forum user Volt after 7+ days of continuous router uptime, maybe give it some time. Check the post I linked above.

I could live with it, since I have a weekly scheduled reboot, and I am currently testing just that.

Still, this should NOT still be happenning, this is at least the 4th release in a row that features this issue.

I asked ASUS for support and they provided me a beta version of this firmware. I don't know if it was any difference but the file size was very similar but not the same. With both versions I experienced issues not long after installing the firmware but I can't precise how long it took. I've reset the router after each firmware change.

Can I ask you the version number of the beta firmware that ASUS support provided you?
I don't understand how they can create and distribute firmware that is broken, someone has to test the firmware.
I'm worried that they are creating new firmware versions just to appease us, but they don't really have a solution and after the new implementation of stronger security it is a feature that cannot be removed.
Maybe it's a good time to get rid of this product quickly while it is still under warranty.

@Unhappy ASUS user It begins with a 9 meaning it is a beta release, and not with a 3 meaning production release, but the version number should be different too, I agree.

I contacted by e-mail and they asked for information and to submit feedback from the router. I didn't understood why they provided a beta firmware version when the production version was already available. While I was waiting for their answer the production version came out and I installed it. After their answer I installed the beta version.

I don't think there's a problem sharing the link but the beta firmware was also problematic for me.

I replied to Asus informing that I was still having issues but I didn't receive an answer yet.

I've replaced the router today with RT-BE86U.

How do you like the new router?
If I remember correctly, due to your existing setup, moving away from Asus was not an option, right? Because it would otherwise make total sense.

On my side, almost 3 days into testing and no issues so far.

Mixed feelings... I was achieving better speeds when far from router and 2 ms less ping with TUF. But so far no problem with web pages loading.

I also use a BD4 as node mesh and initially everything went well but I'm now having problems with it, only able to add it to the mesh with cable connection. When connected by wifi to BD4 download speed is significantly lower and ping significantly higher than with TUF + BD4. I think I'll try to reset everything and start again.
