I checked how long my router’s been running and saw that blue gear icon — then I remembered I had turned on Adaptive QoS. After I disabled it, those little hiccups with webpagd loading started showing up again. But with Adaptive QoS on, my upload speed drops from about 920 Mbps to just over 500. I’ll try rebooting it and see how it behaves. It happenned to forum user Volt after 7+ days of continuous router uptime, maybe give it some time. Check the post I linked above.
I could live with it, since I have a weekly scheduled reboot, and I am currently testing just that.
Still, this should NOT still be happenning, this is at least the 4th release in a row that features this issue.
As my previous post the frame lean check error is happening whenever wan interface is connected. The reality is that something is going wrong with this firmware. Most of people that have it got same issues with slowing down. Have contacted Asus through router interface send them log with error. No answer whatsoever until now. My next step is to contact customer service. If they didn't come up with a solution I will have to return the router. At the moment is barely usable.Hi, sorry for the late feedback.
I had the router running for two weeks uninterrupted and did not experience the kind of slowdowns, sites taking forever to load or pictures not loading like with previous versions. I did experience some slowdowns late in testing, but they did not feel the same as with previous firmwares, and I do not know whether I can blame the FW.

I had to change some settings during those two weeks, so I am not sure whether this restarted some services and masked the issue for some time... inconclusive at this point.
Eventually I had to power off the router at some point. Still testing at the moment, 4 days since last reboot with no noticeable issue. I have always had QoS disabled.
The blue gear icon means Adaptive QoS is enabled on your router. With this feature turned on, regular websites load fine, but I’m getting errors when downloading large video files (around 16 GB) from the cloud and also when uploading big video files to the NAS. Upload speed also drops to about 400 Mbps, while it’s 940 Mbps when QoS is disabled.Hi, sorry for the late feedback.

Thanks, I was playing with the Asus APP on my phone and it somehow enabled Adaptive QoS. I disabled it sometime ago, and it is no longer showing the blue gear icon in the following screenshots. The blue gear icon means Adaptive QoS is enabled on your router. Hi @denis welcome and thank you for sharing your feedback!
I am aware of all that. I have been experiencing the issue with all firmwares since v3.0.0.4.388_33903 back in March 2025 if I am not mistaken.
I found out that using a VPN (having the router connected to a WireGuard VPN server through the VPN Fusion page, routing all traffic through the VPN), the issue is NOT present, whereas as soon as I disconnected the VPN to use my PPPoE connection, I would immediately start having page loading issues.

It seems absolutely UNRELATED to me, but it is what it is.
Regarding your logs and Frame lenght check errors, I could not find a lot of useful information...
I have a couple of questions:
View attachment 69389
- Do you know what a frame lenght error is? Did you experience those errors at the very moment you were having page loading issues? Are you sure both are related?
- In what log did you find them? apparently just the syslog, I do not have such errors but I did a hard factory reset when installing the previous version of the FW that required it, I guess it deleted all my previous logs
- Did Asus ask you to enable system diagnostics and/or to generate downloadable logs? Did you look into them? (if you have them) Could you generate them and have a look? Apparently it requires attaching a USB flash disk to the router in order to store the logs.
Thanks!
For me personally, if the router is stable for at least 7 continuous days, I am fine with it since I usually have a weekly reboot schedule implemented, but that may not be for everyone

I hawe same errors (kernel: 7986@C12L1ra0,Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action() 817: Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action:frame len check error) on stable : 3.0.0.4.388_33427 firmware, so I don't think it's related to the issue with web page loading.Sorry for late response.
Frame lenght check error:
In Networking (Physical Layer)
What it is: The sender calculates a checksum (FCS/CRC) for the frame's data and adds it; the receiver recalculates and compares. If they don't match, the frame is corrupted.
Causes: Physical issues like bad cables, faulty hardware, interference, or duplex mismatches.
Fixes: Check cables, restart devices, check switch/router logs, disable unnecessary protocols (LLDP, CDP).
In Ethernet Switching (Specific Hardware)
What it is: Some switches (like Microchip's KSZ) have a feature to drop packets if their actual length (≤ 1500 bytes) doesn't match the length field in the header.
Causes: Malformed packets from a non-compliant device or specific network conditions.
Fixes: Check device settings; sometimes disabling the feature or adjusting packet size helps.
Trying with 3 different cables.
Still appears in syslog.txt
I have sent to Asus the log because I have a HDD attached.
With previous firmware there was no error coming up just normal activity.
Unfortunately I have not received any feedback from Asus.
I have spent already so many time fiddling with firmware OpenWRT<=>Asus<=>OpenWRT.
The thing is with OpenWRT the Internet is working brilliantly.....but i give up trying setting the Samba server for the attached HDD....is not working as it should or I am doing some mistakes somewhere. On the latest OpenWRT firmware some of my laptops are seeingworkgroup-samba-folders...some not. And this after a router reboot. Whereas with the Asus firmware Samba is fine but the Internet is unbearable slow
.
At the moment i have done a compromise and run Asus router with latest official firmware with wan off the ISP router.
Thank you for trying to help but unfortunately is it not my fault.
When I have the necessary time to contact Asus directly by phone call or chat I will ask them for a solution otherwise I might have to return the product.
Cheers.
I don't think that they are related but again they should not be there to my humble opinion.I hawe same errors (kernel: 7986@C12L1ra0,Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action() 817: Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action:frame len check error) on stable : 3.0.0.4.388_33427 firmware, so I don't think it's related to the issue with web page loading.
