New Around Here
I've been having a battle with my Asus XT8 twin pack for the last two weeks.

Since I received it I've never managed to get the nodes to connect to each other, I've been through the following:

  • Updated to the latest firmware, nodes won't connect to each other
  • Rolled back firmware to 42095, nodes won't connect to each other
  • Hard reset using WPS method, unable to setup via web browser at either http://192.168.50.1 or http://router.asus.com
  • Can set up using phone app using bluetooth, but once set up neither phone nor browser can access settings.
  • Downloaded the 'ASUS device discovery' application to the computer, which can see my ZenWifi device, but gives the error:
'Your computer and wireless router are on a different subnet mask. Ensure that the IP addresses of both your computer and your wireless router are on the same subnet mask.'

I've checked and my subnet mask for my computer is 255.255.255.0, I can't check the subnet mask of the XT8 as I can't access it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I've trying go through ASUS support but they keep asking for error logs which I can't access.

Wire a PC to the router LAN, button reset the router, and re-commission the router from scratch. If configuration does not proceed normally, then maybe you have a hardware issue. Reset the node before adding it.

Hi. I've now got this same problem too after updating to latest firmware (3.0.0.4.386.49873) and hard-resetting (via WPS button) main router and all 3 mesh nodes. I can access the router via the Asus app on my phone, but can no longer access it from my PC which is hard-wired into the back of it. First time this has happened in the 2 years? I've had these routers... Did the hard reset resolve your issue?

Worked it out.. For the benefit of anyone else with this issue, it seems to be that when you initially connect to the system settings via the app, it reconfigures the access protocol such that it is https via a specific port. So that needs to be specified in the URL…. If you go to system settings/access configuration in the app, all the details are there…
