The last years my OpenVPN connection fails once a day for an hour or so, but sometimes up to 24 hours. The short fails sometimes can be fixed with restart of the router (RT-AC68U), but not always. Example: Yesterday it fails about 4 pm and come bace about 11:30 am today suddenly without any activity from me.

Queston: Is this normal (anyone else)? Does asuscomm.com have update problems? Can it take some time to refresh the asuscomm.com ip service?

The Asus DDNS service can be unreliable. Best to use another service for dependable connection. Noip.com has a free service that has to be verified via email monthly.

Contact with the public ip provider (wireless) they confirm that the ip hasn't changed the last months. Therefore I have to search else, to find the reason for down-period of OpenVPN. Is there any other possible sources than the router itself?
