I had not heard anything about a full reset being required to stop ASD crashing
Here.
but I did read that there was some success with deleting ASD-related files which I have done but didn't make a difference.
That might work... ;)
For now, I will live with it because it seems to be having zero effect on router performance.
And yes no impact for me either, just the ASD crashing; but last time it had horrendous effect for some!

This was not about ASD crashing. It was a possible solution to different ASD related issue.
Sure sounds like crashing to me: bad update file - ASD corrupt (crashed) - whole router crashing (offline)... No?
And the logfile is looking the same as mine.

No. This reset solution was for people who didn't know how to fix it. Very similar to other reset solutions around.

And the log-file looking the same - just a coincidence..? 🤔

I agree for the resetting - but just how many people know how to delete just the right ASD files via SSH..? 😅

but just how many people know

Everyone reading SNB Forums had a good chance to know now to fix. This is valid for many other reset solutions as well.

By the way - highlighted words, use of smileys, mentioning long work around IT and customers doesn't make your opinion stronger.

Hello!
The question may not be on firmware 3004.388.4, but still
In the last few days I have been trying to configure ovpn to work on RT-AX86U with firmware 3004.388.4 over tcp via port 443, however, nothing was achieved, despite the fact that everything works on ports after 1024 with the same configuration. Studying on the Internet led to a topic about Archer C5400X in which there is a limitation, and using port 443 for ovpn is not possible.
Question: Are there any technical limitations in the Asus firmware or in ovpn on the use of port 443?

@RMerlin
I have a RT-AX59u arriving today to use as a media bridge ( for TV, Playstations, Sky TV, DVR etc. ) to replace a RP68u, with the main router RT-AX86u.

Which Merlin firmware would best suit the 59, as I can't see it in the supported list ( 58 is! ). If it's not supported will it in future?

Thanks

I think there are no limitations for using TCP Port 443 because I have a running „SSL Open VPN Server“ on a RT-AX88U with this newest merlin firmware

None, as you said that model is not supported. I currently have no plans to add support for it.

388.4 all operational over four days now on the AXE11000...after...changing Division from a "Standard installation" to a "Lite installation" to remove pixelserv-a from being present, due to random "dcd Tainted" reboots one to two times per day. Just disabling pixlserv-a on the Standard installation wasn't enough to prevent. All ok on prior code levels until around 388.4 Beta 2 or 3 installation.

Two syslog examples of the DCD Tainted with Debug logging active.
1st) Random Reboot with Diversion Standard with pixelserv-a enabled.
Sep 2 20:23:18 GT-AXE11000-1 kernel: potentially unexpected fatal signal 11.
Sep 2 20:23:18 GT-AXE11000-1 kernel: CPU: 1 PID: 31202 Comm: dcd Tainted: P O 4.1.52 #2

etc...

2nd) Random Reboot with Diversion Standard with pixelserv-a disabled.
Sep 4 09:46:04 GT-AXE11000-1 kernel: potentially unexpected fatal signal 11.

Thanks @RMerlin & the inner circle team for another masterful asuswrt-merlin code release. Bottle of wine (via donation) on it's way.

This morning I saw this in the logbook:

It seems like someone or a process has requested information about my router. Weird or is this normal?
I have a RT-AX86U
