Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.6 is now available

Updated my AX86U Pro and working well. A few things I noticed under the advanced wireless settings:

b.) "Multi-User MIMO" is completely gone. It still exists under the 2.4GHz band settings, but the only MU-MIMO option under 5GHz now is "OFDMA / MU-MIMO". I guess that means it controls MU-MIMO for both 802.11ac and 802.11ax?
Might as well repost the following to the second third page, for those who missed it on the first page:

For those wondering what happened to the Wireless > Professional > Multi-User MIMO option. RMerlin explained the change in the beta firmware discussion:
The newer GPL code I use hides the MU-MIMO setting whenever the device supports OFDMA, in favor of the MU-MIMO setting present in the OFDMA/MU-MIMO dropdown. The latest published firmware is older and does not do that yet. I can only assume that this is by design.
....
This is probably why that field is also now named "OFDMA / MU-MIMO" rather than just "OFDMA".

GT-AXE16000 here, dirty upgrade from 102.5 and while it took a little longer to install compared to normal, looks like everything is working perfectly fine since!

Thanks for everything you do Merlin!

Thank you sir! Any thoughts on the “modulation scheme” and “802.11b mode” labels? Have those just been mis-labelled by Asus?
I highly doubt they got mislabeled. It would require an active change for this to happen.

hoping not to diverge too much from the topic, but with 3006, is there any new guidance re the use of merlinware on mesh nodes? for those who may not be aware, consensus has been to load stock fw on the nodes. i'm just wondering if we've reached that point, where it may be ok.

regards

Dirty flash from beta 2 to final...
This one went in smoothly on the first try!
thks Merlin

All Merlin, all the way around...

Dirty flash from 102.5 to 102.6 went smoothly. I'm glad to see this released, as I was starting to see issues in .5 where it would slow down/lose connections unless rebooted every few days. Hopefully .6 corrects this.

Went from beta2 to release and have odd random wireless problems only on a couple devices, one of them my main iPhone16.

Also -
Noticed multple openvpn log entries
Nov 26 21:39:15 RT-BE86U openvpn-routing: Applying all killswitches
Nov 26 21:42:55 RT-BE86U openvpn-routing: Applying all killswitches

is logged though I don't have VPN running.

Also, not part of the problem, but noticed new kernel messages which I think are useful:
Nov 27 06:48:34 RT-AX86U_Pro-2FD0 kernel: wl_pktfwd_lut_ins: DA=SYM<BC:83:85:XX:YY:ZZ> to roam from wl0.2 to wl0.1.

I use SmartConnect so this appears to be a message when steering occurs - nice. However, it was only logged on my AX86U_Pro not my BE86U.

Not yet sure what's happening yet... more troubleshooting needed but it is odd that something is triggering openvpn-routing killswitch and I don't use it and the timeframe last night was about the time things started to get flaky. Woke up to the same odd issues this morning.

No issues here.

Don't think this is a problem - standard messages even if you have no VPN's
I asked @RMerlin this question myself a few releases ago ...

good to know, folks but the guidance has been different.

so far, 102.6 seems for lack of a better word, smoother. my node speeds increased significantly. maybe it's the weather. the new traffic function is nicely laid out. overall, the pages seem sharper. course that could be a video driver as well. still, very easy upgrade.
. . . many thanks to our wizard!

If I'm not mistaken, the guidance has been that there's no added benefit to running Merlin on your node(s). For me it's a matter of choice. Just pointing out that it works.

Flashed this one on the RT-BE96U on top of Beta.2, without a factory reset. Good performance and stability with no problems for about a day now. Early yet, but happy to have the new release.

Thanks!

I am not able to show network stats when saving Traffic monitor stats to JFFS:
rstats[19591]: Problem loading /jffs/tomato_rstats_cc28aa816128.gz. Still trying...

Waited for a few hours so the writedown by the hour should have happened.

I'm on BE86U.

You need to create the data file, the option is below where you select the location.

I'll be finally updating my AXE16000 + XT12 (2x mesh) from 3004_388.8_4 to 3006_102.6_0

Is is better to start with the XT12 nodes or with the AXE16000? I'll do factory reset of all of them ofc.

Having issues with my AX86U Pro.

After updating from 3006.102.6, the routers web interface is slow, laggy and will sometimes crash and reload.

I've restarted the router, but it's still doing this. :(

**edit** oddly, rebooting the pc that I was using to view the interface seems to have resolved the issue.
