Add me to the list of folks who successfully upgraded, in my case from 386.1_0 to 386.2_0 on an AC86U. Cleared/refreshed the browser cache, and all the new images loaded like the OP notes said.

The only issue I have found so far is a minor graphical/UI one in Client Status:
  1. Chose to filter wireless devices by 2.4G, yet the "search bar" brings up the 5G details
  2. Chose to filter wireless devices by 5G, and the "search bar" brings up "undefined" details
  3. Wait a few seconds after #2, the Wired tab completely disappears, then reappears after a few more seconds
  4. if you go elsewhere in the UI and come back, you can repeat the issue at will

Upgraded firmware yesterday, waited until today to ensure things "settled", rebooted router, cleared/refreshed browser cache, and the graphical/UI issue persists.

I also see this behavior on both of my RT-AC86U units running 386.2. Definitely weird, but it doesn't seem to cause any real problems.

Hi @RMerlin - I just tried to turn off download shaping in Cake by setting the bandwidth value to zero ( 0 ). Unfortunately the field validation doesn't allow this despite the error message saying that 0 is a valid entry.
I'm not sure about the field validation error, but just wanted to point out that a value of 0 doesn't disable cake, rather it puts it into "auto bandwidth" mode.

I can confirm that I see exactly the same behavior in my RT-AX88U running FW 386.2. Anyway, the search bar still works as a search bar, so it is only a "cosmetic" issue with the text inside.

Until today I never knew I could filter by band in that view, but I also can confirm your findings. RT-AC86U running 386.2.

Nope, working like a charm.

Check syslog for errors to find out why it's not working for you.

Not quite. Zero turns off the bandwidth shaping but leaves the queue management elements functioning. Auto Bandwidth is where Cake tries to calculate the bandwidth and shape to that - which isn’t very successful. It means you can turn off downstream shaping but leave upstream active. Both upload and download still benefit from Cake

+1, AC2900 here

If it's produced by a closed-source component, there's not much to do about it, I guess?
You can still edit the file. Removing a string like that is easy. You just change the first character of it to \0 and it is not printed anymore. But perhaps he's not legally allowed to tamper with that file.

(I don't use that feature so I don't know how annoying/spammy that string is. Maybe it's not as bad as to warrant such action.)

In Merlin, Automatic Bandwidth on the QoS page (both values set to zero) results in no bandwidth parameter being passed to cake so it defaults to unlimited. That is different behavior to autorate-ingress. Bandwidth values of zero in Asus QoS are reserved to indicate Automatic Bandwidth mode, so you cannot set it to zero manually.

Thank you for firmware. Up and running.

Turned on Cake QOS. Seeing improvement on my Grandstream 802 junk ATA. Very smooth voip calls while streaming Locast at same time. I'm about 220mbps down 12mbps up via Comcast. This just may be a huge feature for me.

In Cake, and the standalone implementation you can set zero bandwidth in a single direction to achieve unlimited in that direction. I'm looking to achieve that so I have bandwidth shaping on my upload but unlimited on my download as my ISP seems to manage the inbound contention quite well, and as I'm in a double-NAT situation sitting behind my ISP router it doesn't achieve much if any benefit for me. The field validation states 'Please enter a value between 0 to 9999999999' so I assumed that 0 was intended to be valid, however I've now tried using the 'unlimited' CakeQOS-Merlin alpha Custom Download Parameter which appears to achieve what I'm after.

autorate-ingres is something I'm familiar with and my original post intended to state that it's not very successful in my (and others) experience.

Are you not legally allowed to remove that message?
It's inside a closed source component. I cannot modify it, I don't have its source code.

You can still edit the file. Removing a string like that is easy.
That will log an empty line, not remove the logging call.
