I've changed the firmware version to check something, but you get the idea. Example with OpenDNS.

I'm using 2x servers with parallel requests to speed up resolution, eventually. Experiment what works for you better.

Some details above depend on how you have installed AdGuard Home. The questions and the answers.
Greatly appreciate you providing these detailed instructions and follow up validation.

I don't use AdGuard Home and just play with the available Asuswrt-Merlin supported router from time to time. When someone reports a bug I may try to replicate it and eventually find a workaround. The best source of AdGuard Home related information is @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow.

I don't know if you intended to,

but I notice the prefer-ip6: yes actually makes it try to avoid processing queries over ipv4. Not sure if this behavior is best when all instances of IPV6 are available. A simple " do-ip6: yes" would be most sufficient.
If IPv6 is enabled, I want to prefer its use over IPv4. The preference only affects outbound queries from Unbound.

Was reviewing your Filters and Regex. There is allot of unique filters that probably don't apply to most people. Current using standard AdGuard filter. What would you suggest for most user?

It doesn't work anymore cos when I click here, this is what I get.

If IPv6 is enabled, I want to prefer its use over IPv4. The preference only affects outbound queries from Unbound.
On some "edge" cases, this might not be a preferred behavior when it comes to returning stable "ipv4" name space resolution. I have seen some instances where the preference to IPV6 over IPV4 has caused issues with queries properly resolving, but it is very "edge" case one-off instances.

You have to right click, and select copy link. otherwise it doesn't work.

I did that that's what I got after right click and the same result with inspect adguard:add_dns_server?address=https://family.adguard-dns.com/dns-query&name=AdGuard DNS

Any suggestions on my other questions?

SOLVED.
Good morning, i wanted to ask if there is a manual procedure to install the version previous to the current AdGuard Home v0.107.42 ( normal release), with this i am detecting cache times ranging from the usual 0.20ms to values over 90ms having an average on the total dins about 35-40ms. In the AdGuard Home v0.107.41 version with the same settings the average resolution time was around 5-8ms. The settings are the same, 2 TLS DNS servers (Google and Cloudflare) in parallel mode, increased the cache size parameters based on the advice i found here on the forum and activated Oisid Big List and the 2 Adguard. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Update: In general settings i had the "parental control web service" active, i'm sure i didn't have it before, now i've deactivated it, it could be that it increased the general delay on DNS resolution, let's see if this is the problem.

Update2: it was the "parental control", whit it disabled the Average processing time back to 3-6 ms, probably the Ac86u is too old to process this option without introducing a huge delay.

After all that's been said and done I had to sadly call it quits running AGH off Merlin... https://www.snbforums.com/threads/adguard-home-uses-97-of-ram.82212/post-839645 <- my own optimization tips on keeping it running stable.

Since then my AXE11000 had mostly been fine until lately when I updated to 388.5 alpha build. Lockups / DNS resolution errors began to resurface and Skynet also began acting up. Compounded by issues with my AXE11000 actively "refusing" certain 6Ghz clients, I decided to nuke my setup and move to OPNSense + AGH on a VM. Alas, I thought it would work out fine...When it works it really works great.

Try the final release version.

Alas, I thought it would work out fine...When it works it really works great.
I don't know if you have updated your auxillary files or tried the latest version since you've made that post, https://www.snbforums.com/threads/adguard-home-uses-97-of-ram.82212/post-839645 , but there have been numerous memory optimizations done under the hood to make AGH run more stable, and run better since you have made that post. Alas, it could simply be the Wifi stability of that particular model Router requires more juice than AGH will allow the router to have. I am not sure if you have tested the latest updates, but it is worth a shot if you haven't.

Have to deal with this every update now, resets my whole config file.

Something in your .yaml does not agree with AGH's .yaml checker. Maybe you have a deprecated setting inside your saved .yaml file, or something in your .yaml file is improperly formatted. AGH is very sensitive to the .yaml formatting.

Maybe this link below will help you identify improper formatting in your .yaml config:

I suggest you read your config file line by line to ensure it is properly .yaml formatted. Otherwise this issues is likely not going away.

A shot in the dark guess is that your issue is present at the bottom of your .yaml file.

Heres what mine looks like:
Code:
log:
  file: ""
  max_backups: 0
  max_size: 100
  max_age: 3
  compress: false
  local_time: false
  verbose: false
os:
  group: ""
  user: ""
  rlimit_nofile: 0
schema_version: 27

There is nothing wrong on line 5, that is not helping in understanding the problem.
Read my edit to the previous post. My guess is your error is some where inside the last sections.

Code:
log:
  file: ""
  max_backups: 0
  max_size: 100
  max_age: 3
  compress: false
  local_time: false
  verbose: false
os:
  group: ""
  user: ""
  rlimit_nofile: 0
schema_version: 27

The end of my file looks like this - it's running just fine on the router right now. If the file was "wrong" it wouldn't run at all I would have thought ... The error exists in the updating process somewhere.

You have to have the indent's. Otherwise the .yaml file might improperly formatted in places.

This is a yaml format checker.

Run the content of your .yaml file through this.

If everything is good inside your .yaml file you will get this:

After you press GO.

This part of the update process exists to tell you if there is bad formatting in your .config file. There is no telling if the bad formatting will "break" AGH from starting. Maybe your AGH starts, but with errors.
