AX88U losing connection

Hello, I recently purchased the AX88U. I am having an issue that roughly once an hour it loses connection to the modem for about 30 seconds.

Check the router and modem logs, find the connection loss event, copy/paste the log here so we can eventually see what's happening.

Here are the logs from the Asus router. No event was recorded on modem for this.

All the messages above are Wi-Fi related. There is no indication the router had issue with WAN connection.

Was the router purchased new or used and what firmware it currently runs? What's the modem - xDSL, Cable, Fiber?

Router purchased new. It's been updated to the most current stock firmware. Modem is an Actiontec T3200M Fiber

What I see for Actiontec T3200M - it's a VDSL2 modem/router. Is it in router mode or in modem (bridge) mode?

It is in Bridge mode currently. Also the reason I thought it was losing WAN connection, was because during loss of internet I ran the asus diagnostic tool. The diagnostic tool said it was not communicating with the modem.

In bridge mode see if your disconnections are related to ISP DHCP lease time. You can see it on Internet Status page:

In Administration, System disable Network Monitoring if enabled:

See if it helps, if not we have to go through wireless settings to find out why your clients disconnect. Did you make any changes there?

Lease time shows 2 hours.

Network monitoring was already disabled.

My wifi settings are stock other than SSID and password. Could this be compatibility of some devices with wifi 6? I've heard of issues revolving older devices connecting to this router.

Identify by MAC address what devices re-connect more often first. Perhaps the device showing the disconnection is one of them.

For your router though 5GHz is a bit different (AX-Class):

5GHz:
- set Channel Bandwidth 80MHz
- use fixed channel in non-DFS range 36-48 or 149-161
- disable Roaming Assistant
- disable TX Bursting
- disable WMM APSD
- disable Airtime Fairness
- disable Universal Beamforming

Use WPA2-Personal with Protected Management Frames - Disabled. Leave the rest on Default and test again.

If you still have disconnections try changing Group Key Rotation Interval to 7200. The default 3600 (in seconds) is exactly 1h.
