New Around Here
not sure if this is the proper thread, I am interested in limiting bandwidth for excessive users at my hotel, how??? downloaders etc...

The upper-end SOHO (small office/home office) routers have speed limits you can set.
Not usually found in consumer routers.

You'll probably need a consultant to set it up for you, or a very geeky friend/relative.

If your hotel/motel is small, and does not have an elaborate IT system, then one of the SOHO routers with speed/bandwidth constraints, also in the category of quality of service (QoS). Some possible vendors:

ZyXel
Juniper
Cisco (not Linksys)

and others.

Best to get a (main) wired-only router, and if you use WiFi, put that on a separate access point (AP) that connects to the main router. There are APs distributed as needed for WiFi coverage.
