BE86U vs Virgin Media

Has anyone from the working successfully got the RT-BE86U working on a virgin media line using the Hub 5 in modem mode??? If you have or anyone has a trick up there sleeve please post. Would Merlin firmware be an option to try???

What are the issues with the BE86 on Virgin Media? I've not noticed any specific posts about it.

I'm interested as I'm thinking about upgrading from my RT-AX86U router to either the BE86 or BE88. I've used Asus routers on my Virgin Media connection for many years and not had an issue with the hub in modem mode.

You'd need to post under "Tech Chatter" in that forum, else the VM Staff will shut the conversation down as not a VM issue they can fix.
Tech chatter area is community only and staff do not manage that area for support calls.

AFAIK, on the HFC network or RFoG network (HFC=coax RFoG=fibre to outside home, then coax inside all using DocSIS) a HUB5 will just work with it when in modem mode.
If it's a NexFibre area, (full fibre FTTP, No DocSIS) there is no modem mode on the Hub5x used, but there are articles on Google on how to get an SFP module and configure it and do away with the HUB5x router.
