Don't waste your time with this website. A lot of people purchased needless hardware based on unrealistic stress conditions testing. For 300/50 ISP line Asuswrt-Merlin and Cake... in case QoS is needed for some reason. Not available in Asuswrt. Just Bandwidth Limiter in stock Asuswrt may show significant improvements in this fake Waveform test... just because it prevents maxing out the line bandwidth.

But I do own a top of the line cable modem (CM3000).
I have personally tested many cable modems and just a modem with better components inside can make a difference in bufferbloat.
Plus my ISP is now using LLD.

You perhaps mean difference in Waveform tests. Some people will spend money to get an A. The actual user experience in common daily on-line activities will remain exactly the same.

No I mean the same test with different modems. Depending on the modem I have seen some go down to C while others get A or B.
All on the same testing site, speed tier, PC and router with the only device difference being the modem.
All comes down to what is inside like CPU and other components plus how much memory it has.
Some cheap out on this while others do not.
Like people going out buying coda56 which has the flawed puma chipset in it which is known for increased latency.
Anything with broadcom in it can out perform this modem when it comes to latency.

I have 2x ISP provided Hitron CODA56 in use. As long there is no line saturation there is no "bufferbloat" on any of online test sites. And this is 95% of the time on all my ISP lines. Commercial websites make questionable tests, create the issue, display it in a bad way (like school grading system) and then recommend some specific hardware with direct sales or referral links. Sounds like business to me.

Does not change the fact it is a crap modem compared to just about any Broadcom based modem.
I have disassembled the coda56 as well as other modems and could not believe how cheap the components inside the coda56 are.
No wonder it has such a low price.

Coda56 has deteriorating fabric heat sink material which has been known to fail in some cases.
The fix is to replace the deteriorating heat sink material with heat sink material like that used on NVME hard drives which I have had to do to several of them.

I believe we have different ISP conditions. My modems are ISP provided devices at no cost and no monthly fees. If they stop working the ISP will replace. So far no complaints on 1000/50 and 300/50 plans. Hold connection forever, latency as expected for DOCSIS 3.1 technology. In my case I have no reasons to replace working well equipment, investigate approved on ISP network models, pay extra for new equipment and take responsibility for it. I know a lot of you guys in the US pay rental fees for ISP equipment, but this is not the case North of the border. I also know Puma chipsets had latency spikes issues in the past, but I can't detect any on my ISP lines. And definitely no bufferbloat at lower than line saturation speeds.
