BE98 Pro Mesh System – Constant Instability Issues, Anyone Else Experiencing This?

My BE98 Pro been great. It's the best router I have owned. No disconnects or problems. Great speed with the 10gig connection going to my NAS.

It running as host to two other ASUS in the AiMesh. AX88U and AC86U. No problems with the mesh. All 50 clients are happy connected and doing their jobs.

This may be part of the key to the issues. Each AiMesh is limited to the specs of the lowest spec router. In your case the AC86U. And even though I have my network split so that I have an AiMesh of AX(E) and AC routers on one and BE routers on the other, a bigger amount of devices connect to my old RT-AC68U!

I was using All BE98-Pros.. You're mixing rather old equipment !

Yeah

Seamless roaming is enforcing the BE98 Pro to broadcast a compatible signal, or to achieve seamless roaming it is... That's why Blacklistedcard is perfectly happy with the BE98 Pro performance.

All by itself WiFi 7 routers seem to have compatibility issues with the older WiFi 6 and 5 devices...

Hello,
Just to say that with the latest firmware I've noticed Random disconnects with “connected but no internet” over other WiFi problem on my RT-BE88U (nomesh system)....
You're not alone.

I actually purchased two BE98pros to do more troubleshooting. I’m really thinking the issue is AdGuard. If you make a guest network pro use a different subnet it doesn’t work at all. However I’m noticing that even using the same subnet clients start randomly getting no internet. Maybe someone can chime in on this @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow

I can tell you from first glance, in order to troubleshoot if it is AdGuard, take Adguard out of the equation and see if the problems persist. If they do, then adguard is not in conflict with your setup. Then it would be time to look else where at your settings to see if something else could be the cause of conflict. Some special configuration that a typical home user wouldn't think of or something.

I only bought the GT-BE98 Pro to see if my bands could reach @Tech9 and to get the MLO.

yes if I remove your add-on then I'm not getting these random drop outs- So I'm thinking its your add-on - I even am using the Guest Network Pro not on a different subnet and I'm still getting the random drops.

does it work when you are on a different subnet? I may have just patched the issue, but I cannot confirm unless you are willing to test.

I am willing to test and no it doesn't work at all correctly on a different subnet in fact it functions more unstable.
So okay, have you ran a recent test with the latest changes i just patched today? I just recently pushed a patch which i think is causing the issue, but another consideration to keep in mind as well is the geographial resilience of the upstream DNS servers you are choosing to use with adguardhome configuration. That is also some times important in properly configuring Adguarehome. I have witnessed users configure Adguardhome with only one set or type of DNS servers (e.g. cloudflare, or quad9) and it did a horrible job simply because there were not servers close to the part of the world the individuals lived. Connection dropouts could also be a result of a poor selection of upstream dns servers chosen, or limited memory resources - especially if you have adguardhome configured with a rather large blocklist instead of using adguardhomes memory optimized filterlist selection. I have also seen users experience issues when trying to combine two dns services e.g. (broken communication between adguardhome & unbound)
