Belkin N750 bug: Cant config after disabling 5GHz Wifi protected setup

James Newton

New Around Here
I'm big on wifi being as secure as possible. I will manually configure all my devices, thankyouverymuch. So I wanted to disable Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Changed the setting, applied, waited, ok, no problems. Noticed that there was a separate item for 5GHz, I had only disabled 2.4GHz. (ah, smart boy for noticing that little hidden gem, I thinks, thinks I) so I click over, and sure enough, there is another option to enable or disable the 5GHz service. So I change it to disable, apply, wait, screen come back ok but then I get no response from the browser when I click on the next item on the list.

Interesting... Power cycle, my PC connects and I get an IP and can ping the router, but no response from port 80. Telnet and 2x browsers are the same. Reset button, same. Hold down reset for 10 seconds, same. Hold down reset for 30 seconds, and we are back, but all settings lost.

Try again, same.

Check firmware and it's the latest 1.10.17, but I re-loaded it anyway. Try again, same.

Everything else seems to work, but you have to leave it on the pin setup method on for 5GHz. The pushbutton is disabled from the 2.4GHz screen.

Anyone have an idea where I can report that to Belkin?

Unless I'm mistaken this is a known issue but I thought it was disabling WPS that caused the issue.

Did you check the Belkin support site for a firmware update?

i have the Belkin N750 DB (F9k1103 v1) router
i recently updated to 1.10.22 firmware and factory reset etc.
am having the exact same problem as the guy above.
Belkin has had this problem on all the firmwares that were ever released.
WPS on this router has a KNOWN security flaw that can let an attacker easily have their way.

WHY CAN WE NOT DISABLE BOTH 2.4GHz (AND) 5GHz WPS????????
such bull crap!
