best router for FIOS verizon customer.

hello, I would like to have dual band N, good range.

Ive read I can turn off my antec fios non-n router and use another router as an access point and wifi source. I dont have FIOS TV

can u suggest one?

will the netgear 3700 work as this? I read somewhere it cant act as an access point.

anyother suggestions would be great since Im a newbie big time. thanks in advance.

Have you decided to spend $$$ upgrading your client devices to 11n? To dual-band?

Even 11g, with a good signal strength, will yield 20-24Mbps. I doubt you'll find any Internet servers that will sustain anywhere near that rate, even if FIOS were a zigabit.

You can convert any wireless router to an Access Point.

The WNDR3700 is a good dual-band N router. It will increase speed only if used with 802.11n clients. And don't expect much in the way of range increase.
