Looking for the best sources for learning the basics of routing and network IPs. Whether it's books, online, or in-person training - suggestions are welcomed!
Thanks - L. :)

Looking for the best sources for learning the basics of routing and network IPs......

You did not really identify exactly what you want to learn, so this reply is a bit vague. But, from the perspective of learning the basics of IP addressing and simple routing I would say, as already mentioned, the Novell books can be very useful, not just the one mentioned, but almost all of their old manuals were very good. As well, the Cisco training materials are probably the best in the business, but like everything from Cisco, you will pay for them. As for online, look for basic ip addressing articles and you will probably get what you need.

For a good look at the field, try any or all of the following (dates are old, new editions might be available):

Internet Routing Architectures by Bassam Halabi, 2nd ed 2000
ISBN: 157870233X co-author: Danny McPherson

CCIE Professional Development: Routing Tcp/Ip, Jeff Doyle. v1, 1998
ISBN: 1578700418

Routing TCP/IP, Volume II (CCIE Professional Development series),
Jeff Doyle. v2, 2001 ISBN: 1578700892

Lasty, of course, there is probably some sort of IP or Networking for Dummies book out there, but I generally do not recommend those for serious work.

-Danny.
