Hello, I tried to install BWMON on my AX88U.
But after install I always get 404 error whe trying to reach http://<your_router_ip>:<lighttpd_port>/bwmon/index.html

Anyone using bwmon could guide me to find why I get the 404?

Thanks

I think he's talking about this one...

I have not run across any app using lighttpd yet, and not sure how well it behaves on our routers with everything else... but have you been able to determine what port this webserver is running on? If you have a way to change it, perhaps assign it like 8081 or something?

According to their instructions... it's port 8000... did you try that?

  1. If you enabled lighttpd server for better performance you can visit http://your_router_ip:8000/bwmon.html. If you do not have lighttpd capability or have chosen not to run lighttpd you can visit the legacy page at http://your_router_ip/user/bwmon.html to view your stats.

You may want to take a peek at https://www.snbforums.com/threads/aria2-webui-on-asuswrt-merlin.63290/

I'm not aware of a version of bwmon for asuswrt-merlin. Where did you get it from?
Found it here: bwmon Github

Since I followed this
I changed my port in the conf file to 3000
Initially I was getting a 403 error, but it was related to an config in lighttpd.
After I fixed the issue with lighttpd... I started getting the 404.
I will look in the other links provided and see If I find something

Thanks

It won't work on 8000 and that url is different from the guide I followed. There's no file bwmon.html under the www folder

Yeah, sorry... I didn't know what source/guide you were using... That was just the first thing I found relating to BWMON. Chime in if you find a resolution?

FYI the openwrt guide doesn't work (cannot install) on the latest Asus Merlin

master@RTAX88U:/tmp/mnt/ax88usb# opkg install uhttpd bmon
Unknown package 'uhttpd'.
Installing bmon (4.0-1) to root...
Downloading https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/bmon_4.0-1_aarch64-3.10.ipk
Collected errors:
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package uhttpd.
* opkg_download: Failed to download https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/bmon_4.0-1_aarch64-3.10.ipk, wget returned 1.
* opkg_install_pkg: Failed to download bmon. Perhaps you need to run 'opkg update'?
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package bmon.

But the iftop command found on that same guide works great. It's already better than nothing! Thanks

I tried the Entware bmon package and it works well but doesn't support HTTP output (AFAICT) like the OpenWRT version does. But it's a completely different type of utility compared the VREMSoftwareDevelopment software.

No errors when installing like I did get?

Strange I get the following:

master@RTAX88U:/tmp/home/root# opkg install bmon

Installing bmon (4.0-1) to root...
Downloading https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/bmon_4.0-1_aarch64-3.10.ipk

* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package bmon.

And when running opkg update

master@RTAX88U:/tmp/home/root# opkg update
Downloading https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/Packages.gz
*** Failed to download the package list from https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/Packages.gz

Collected errors:
* opkg_download: Failed to download https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.

Found the issue... in my numerous tries to make bwmon work... I installed a wget nossl version....
opkg uses wget... so I broke opkg too!

I just followed this and fixed the issue. Wget works and opkg too!

Now I can try bmon !
