Change Names In Client List

Am I overlooking this option? I would like to rename the devices connected to the router instead of them being displayed by MAC addresses. Thx

That is not an option with Asus cant be done. Maybe down the road Asus or Merlin might add that option but unlikely at this time.

If you assign them static IPs it will mostly display them right, perhaps even totally correct depending on the complexity of your network.

Caveats are that devices behind bridges probably won't appear and there's also seemingly no way to sort this list by IP, friendly name, or MAC. And it seems to be a bug (well documented on other threads) that some people's devices won't reliably show up on that list. YMMV

Mine all have names no mac address. Just go into each device and give them a name and it will show up.

My firmware will already use whatever name you enter on the DHCP reservation page while populating the Client list.

I get that but the op asked if you could change the name via the connected device list.
