Cheap but good router for a large house

Asking for a friend who's on a tight budget.

What would be the best router nowadays that has good range and speed?

He saw a Tik Tok video about some guy selling the Xiaomi MI AX9000 Black for double the price of what it's advertised on Amazon and claiming that it's a WiFi 7 router. I never heard of it so I checked the Amazon link and while it has good reviews, the router is 4 years old and no firmware updates from Xiaomi since 2021.

I was thinking the ASUS GT-AX6000 but was wondering if there's something better or if there is a WiFi 7 router that doesn't break the bank but has good range.

All depends on what you think is cheap. T P Link routers are cheap but the mother company is Chinese (not National Chinese either). Possible security risk? Buying used from Ebay or the like can be chance.
Asus AX86U Pro is good. Refurb from Amazon should be safe.
