Cheap but good router for a large house

Asking for a friend who's on a tight budget.

What would be the best router nowadays that has good range and speed?

He saw a Tik Tok video about some guy selling the Xiaomi MI AX9000 Black for double the price of what it's advertised on Amazon and claiming that it's a WiFi 7 router. I never heard of it so I checked the Amazon link and while it has good reviews, the router is 4 years old and no firmware updates from Xiaomi since 2021. I told him I wouldn't buy that router from that TikTok guy as it looks he is misadvertising an ancient router as WiFi7, charging double the price, and he would be better off getting something from Amazon for easy returns and warranty claims.

I was thinking the ASUS GT-AX6000 but was wondering if there's something better or if there is a WiFi 7 router that doesn't break the bank but has good range.

All depends on what you think is cheap. T P Link routers are cheap but the mother company is Chinese (not National Chinese either). Possible security risk? Buying used from Ebay or the like can be chance.
Asus AX86U Pro is good. Refurb from Amazon should be safe.

In Middle East region the devices follow ETSI standards with low power on common 2.4GHz and 5GHz band channels. Up to 20dBm on 2.4GHz band, up to 23dBm on 5GHz band non-DFS. I would expect most devices offered on the market have about the same range.
