Merlin provides SHA256 checksum for downloads. But.....

I can't seem to find a simple portable hash program that will compare sha256 string to the file I download.

I get the file then I run MD5 checksum, hashtag, or digestIT to create the checksum. But then I have to manually eyeball the results to compare to his tag.

Those programs can compare a MD5 checksum string to a downloaded file but none of them can do a sha256 checksum string compared to a file.

Anyone know of a application that can? Web sites don't count, I want a portable program not a website.

http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/

Simply copy the checksum and when you right click on the downloaded file and select the Hashtab Tab, it will show a green checkmark for a match or a red 'x' for a non-match.

See the screen shots in the link above and download the program for free.

Thanks! I had tried hashtab but I could not paste into that slot and so moved on to another program. I found out why. Webroot (my AV program) was blocking another program that also happened to be blocking cut n paste to hashtag but still worked for pasting into notepad. Goofy error.

Thanks again, yes its working fine now!
