Clearing the log

I go to the page System Log / General Log; there are some records showing; I press the button "Clear" and they disappear. But if I click "Apply", they are back. Isn't "Clear" supposed to actually clear the log?
 
Does a reboot help? It may just be a caching issue too (on the browser).
 
Works for me. What router? What firmware version?
