Client list behavior question

Jacobo

New Around Here
Hi all!
This is my first post about a strange behavior i have with the client list in my RT-AC68U. I guess it is not merlin related (didnt test with stock firmware yet).
First my network configuration:
modem --- RT-AC68U(router) --- loco M5(bridge) - - - <air> - - - loco M5 (bridge)--- AC1200G+(access point stock firmware)

Well... in the AC1200G+ i can see all the network devices (even the router and clients attached to it directly and not to the access point).
I have one computer connected to the ac68u router through rj45 and wifi and i can see only one IP and the 2 clients message
In the RT-AC68U i can see only the devices attached directly to the router including the access point and then another entry for one of the devices connected to the access point with the n clients message. The IP and name of the device does not match (IP may change to any of the devices in the AP) and de MAC address seems to be the one of the M5 antenna (configured as bridge)

It seems a bit weird to me but may be just the way asus is gathering the data to show the client list have its limitations. Is it that or this is not the way it should work in this scenario?

If this is how it works... is there a way to watch for dhcp clients? Im not able to find a dhcp leases list

Thanks for reading and sorry for any bad english usage.

I think i've found the cause for this client list behavior. I searched for the MAC address having different IPs and it was one of the Loco M5 antennas configured as a bridge. Looking at their configuration found a checkbox checked for "automatic IP aliases". When disabled, the router started to see all the clients in the network even behind the bridge and access point.

I didn't know about this feature before but it seems to be the cause for the router to see every device behind the bridge to come from the same client
