Feel free to take a look at my personal scripts I use to setup a Ubuntu 18.04 container from stock (you will need to make some minor adjustments like the FINAL_LOC var);

setup.sh - Setup Ubuntu VM from scratch

build.sh - Build AX88U firmware image

Thank you, this made it very easy to get a build up and going. Spin up a new Ubuntu 18.04 VM, run updates, download setup.sh to desktop, run with install then with repo, and then build.sh is there....

Taking a risk to upload my first attempt at a clean build to my AX88U.... buy why not eh?

not working in WSL ... - fixed, was not using params
need to setup vm with ubuntu

You can't use WSL as (among other things) it won't run 32-bit code.
