New Around Here
Hi there,

Kind of a silly question, but can anyone confirm that I can daisy chain two switches (3com 4200g - Nortel baystack 350-24t) by simply running a cross-over cable between 2 LAN ports?

I've read over all the material for the baystack switch, and aside from trunking, there isn't any info on using a second switch for extending my available ports.

Since there isn't any routing, I'm also assuming that I don't need to disable DHCP on either router.

Anyone have some insight into this?

If these are unmanaged switches, there are no settings to change.

Yes, you can link switches together by connecting a cable between ports. If either switch supports auto MDI/X, you don't even need a crossover cable. From the quick look I took, neither of these switches does support MDI/X, so you'll need the crossover.
