create own chat server on Merlin AC88U

Hello,

I want to create my own chat server on the router.
The plan is to use the open source client riot.im.
It should be possible to send also images/videos etc.
Has someone experience with any chat server installed on the router?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for reply. I get Prosody running but I get it not started automatically using different user as root like stated in the link.
Has someone get it running under a user with lower lower privileges and started automatically after reboot?
