EA-AC87 1gbit issues. slow speeds

Rasmus Christoffersen

New Around Here
Well first of all, i made a HUGE mistake, i am not updated on Wireless, and needed a link to my old RT-AC68 since i moved, and installing cat6 cable can´t be done.

panicked and bought the EA-AC87 it was NEW in Danish shops, and did not see that it seemed to be an disc. product.

well first of all it links up fine, 5 bars on the router, 9xx mbit link, and 80MB/sec from server. that´s all fine, but it was unstable.

did not know why. had the EA-AC87 in bridge mode and hooked up to a switch. but it "died" each 2-3 mins or if i downloaded at fast speeds (normal surfing kept it alive)

then i removed the switch and connected directly. my 250/250mbit internet line ended up running 4mbit Down / 265 mbit up.. seemed wrong. (Intel nic stated 1000gbps)

the i tried running my Internal NIC at 100mbit full duplex and suddenly i had 100/100mbit (full Card speed) and internet was 100% stable and no issues, even if i put the switch back into the loop..

i am running Windows 10..

so it seems like a 1gbit connection from Windows 10 and Intel 1218V creates a lot of issues on the EA-AC87
i will try and get it returned tomorrow but i am over "the last return date" so i might have issues..

do any of you Guys know the issues? can it be fixed? i fairly happy with it, when it is running..

80MB/sec is more than enough.

The EA-AC87U is part two of "The Quantenna" story with Asus... it's a story of tattered rainbows and unicorn tears for many...

Perhaps send it home and get your Euro's back...

so.. the product is defective ? did a Google on the Quantenna issues, and did not find anything..

what is the issue? it´s 03.00 at night here, been working on finding a solution other than running 100mbit on it.. but if it is impossible, please enlighten me.
