EnGenius’ AC1300 MESHDot Kit is composed of the EMR3500 wireless mesh router and a small wall-pluggable wireless node called a MESHdot (EMD11). Both devices in the kit are Qualcomm-powered and designed for consumer use.

The EMR3500 router uses a 360° antenna that helps it connect to up eight MESHdot nodes on the wireless network. The MESHdot node itself is a plug-and-play device that plugs directly into a wall outlet and uses EnGenius’ EnMesh technology to provides wireless connectivity to mobile devices around the home.

As a whole, the MESHdot kit includes familiar features including automatic firmware updating, guest networking, and parental controls such as getting real-time data on who’s on the network, creating and maintaining rules to banning connections, enforce scheduled internet access times, or restricting access to social media, search engines and online video content.

MESHdot Kit includes two apps used to install, manage, access and monitor the new wireless system. First, the EnMesh app is used to install, control access, prioritize and manage devices, while the EnFile app adds cloud-like access and file management features to USB connected media.

EnGenius’ MESHdot Kit is scheduled for release to the consumer market in Q1 2019 at a price of $99 MSRP.

Looks like they've come down a lot in price since then, as the early bird was $128 for the kit.
The EMD1 and EMR3000 from the Kickstarter seem to be different products from what is being announced here. The new versions likely include some cost-cutting changes which allows EnGenius to lower the price. They'll probably use a single-chip Qualcomm IPQ401x solution for the EMR3500 instead of the older QCA9557 + QCA9882 + AR8035 + AR8033 design in the EMR3000v2
