I have a system using Ubuntu OS and wish to connect to the EnGenius ESR600H USB Server Mode, but can only find the drivers for PC or Mac, which work for the other Windows OS PC's connected. Does someone have and or knows a working open source code that can be use with Ubuntu.
Thanks

Maybe I should add some more info. I can access this wireless and internet with no problem, but wish to use the USB Server feature of this router for storage/file sharing that I can do with other computers running windows 7 OS connected.

Sorry, being it's in the wireless forum, I looked passed the details. I saw Ubuntu and drivers along with forum location...my bad, at least someone will know how to get wireless to work in Linux when drivers only exist for Windows.

Did you try Wine?

http://www.net-usb.com/usb-redirector/

http://www.incentivespro.com/usb-server-install.html - looks like some use this package in OpenWRT to gain usb over IP, could it be EnGenius is using the same? May need to look through their install to find clues.

Why not share via samba? Router USB network sharing, requiring client software is a terrible implementation to begin with, it's slow and buggy.

Their international website lists the ESR750H with existing Linux drivers.

Thats good info, will read about this first since both units are about the same, I missed that info.
Thanks for the other info

I own this router but the prior testing shows it has some issues.. But WiFi peaked when it works. I can't seem to get the latest firmware to fix freezing other uses.

tipster,

How do you like this engenius vs the previous one you had?
Better coverage & usable range?

SNB hasn't reviewed it yet, that I am aware of.
