Hi,

I have a new townhouse Im moving into and am after advice regarding wireless options.

The construction is double brick cavity (perhaps single for the internal brick wall) with timber floor and cathedral ceilings (so no roof space to access).

I'm examining options to install dry-wall and have a full wired installation to a patch panel co-located with my NAS, modem etc but it may not be possible for all locations.

I have my main work PC which I will have hardwired to my DSL connection.

My NAS and Home theatre need conncetivity for streaming and I'd like to be able to stream to wireless devices as well.

Some queries/aims:

1. A single wireless link between my NAS and Home theatre or PC. What is the choice for this to provide the best possible bandwidth/speed?
I will be streaming full HD content but also move around very large files so bulk throughput is of interest.

2. Wireless link for general 'stuff' around the home.

I'm not interested in Ethernet over Power line as I keep all of my Computer and theatre equipment protected from damage off the local electrical/communications grid, or appliances in the home. I don't see a way to install it without breaching that protection.

Im keen on advice regarding suitable routers or WAP's. I'm keen to keep the total number of devices to a minimum so at least one being a router/modem would be handy (haven't analysed the place enough to know if my wireless point needs to be seperate location to the modem though).
