Firmware failure

The newest and most recent ac5300 firmwares have been complete failures. The features seem great but connectivity fails, CPU runs high, frequent reboots needed or like my current situation, I had to reflash the original firmware to regain internet connection.
Why is this? What are you doing to fix this?

What have you done to try and fix these issues?

It would also be helpful to specify which router and which firmware(s) you're using.

Asus ac5300. I've reset multiple times. The issues started subtle, wifi drop, high CPU, slow speeds, all were fixed with a reboot that I never had to do before. Today my router couldn't see the internet at all and resets, reboots, turning off options, did nothing until I flashed original firmware back.

What was the last stable Merlin firmware you used?

Define "reset". Did you fully perform the steps in the link to reset to factory defaults and then reconfigure it manually without using a saved configuration file?

Can you post the ACTUAL firmware version numbers that you are using (both the ones that work and the ones that don't).

Try Hard Factory Reset if you haven't done so, don't reset from the browser or the reset button. I would assume yours is the RT-AC5300, not GT-AC5300?
