hey guys, I'm using fork version 374.43_2-10j9527.
Would I loose the settings if I update to the latest?

No as long as you don't default it it should be fine. You could get a backup first though to be on the safe side. Should have one anyway technically

Installed 374.43_2-17BAj9527 and so far the only thing I see so far is this firmware is that it broke my PIA VPN. No other issues, love the improved throughput of wireless and wired speed on this firmware.
Appreciate your help John, if you have any answers to this issue, since you helped fix VPN issues before which I appreciate.

Sorry for the difficulty......it's caused by the VPN Client starting before the time has been synced (see the time stamp on the entries of Dec 31). Whether or not you see it is dependent on exactly what other options you have running. You should(may?) be able to get it started by turning the client off/on after the boot completes.

You were exactly right John, it was not syncing, once I got Client to finally sync, it is now working awesome, the logs updated to the current date also. Awesome appreciate the Clarity, Help. Look forward to the final release.

I've tried flashing to both the normal merlin firmware and a generic asus firmware and whilst they both take a couple of minutes to flash and say completed at the end, I remain on this fork and nothing changes.

I've tried factory resetting, using different browsers, flashing via an ethernet cable, via wifi and all sorts, but don't seem to be able to install a new firmware.

Any suggestions as this has got me stumped?

What version of a Merlin and Asus are you trying to go to from the fork?

When going from the fork to newer firmware versions, you must first flash Merlin 378.55 or Asus 376.3626 and then upgrade to newer versions.

Yep and i believe this is only for the AC68 series routers.

Hi John, had a couple of questions:

1-Is there a script of some sort that could run after the router has booted up, that could restart the media server? I have had some instances of the server not running after a boot from power off or reboot. It would run after I hit apply on the servers center page (without making changes to any option).

2-If I add another disk to the router and name some folders the same as existing folders on the other (present) disk, what would happen to the content list displayed on devices?

This is a 'big' release, including several new functions (DNSSEC, Bandwidth Limiter) and a lot of fix activity, particularly in the area of native IPv6 support and router recovery.

Part of the reason for the longer release cycle this time....it just so happens that I had a line problem with my ISP that was causing modem timeouts, channel aborts and modem reboots. In all this, I noticed several problems with the router recovery, including some service start problems and loss of native IPv6 accesss. So, rather than immediately call it in, I let it go for a few days to collect data and develop fixes. Recovery due to modem loss should be greatly enhanced in this release.

Rather than try and summarize all the updates here, I'll just point you to the first post in this thread for a list of all the changes. I hope this runs as well for everyone else as it's running for me

Really shouldn't be necessary. No changes to the wireless drivers and I handle initializing the new nvram variables during the router boot (to avoid having to do a reset).

Of course, if anything looks strange after the upgrade, the first advice will be a reset
