New Around Here
Hello All,
I am tearing my hair out trying to get my Google Home Hub (rebranded to Google Nest Hub) to connect to my WiFi. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction...
Environment:
I am running an Asus AC86U on latest stock firmware (3.0.0.4.386_44470-g53bccb8 which I updated today). My settings are essentially defaults except for changes that I have found as possible fixes in my google searching, I can do a full factory reset if it helps in diagnosing the issue further.
Behavior:
When I plug the Home Hub (Nest Hub) in, I go through the setup steps and appears to get stuck on "Connecting to Network" or "Check Internet Connection" error. I hve confirmed with Google's support team that if I connect to a hotspot on my phone (bypassing my Asus router) that the home hub connects to it fine and comes online happily.
From the Asus router itself, I can see that the device gets an IP address (which I statically assign with DHCP to help with troubleshooting). If I run TCPDump looking for the device's IP, I get some interesting messages about unreachable addresses:
15:53:15.726850 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 47369, offset 0, flags [none], proto ICMP (1), length 130)

Aside from these, I cannot identify anything that would be causing a problem on the network...
Does anyone have any ideas about what could be going wrong and causing the problem? Or further troubleshooting steps to try?
