Had noticed late last week my chrome browser pages were taking a long time to load on home network.
Did my usual novice poking around my router & on these boards with nothing unusual to speak of.
Then today this came out:

https://blog.thousandeyes.com/internet-vulnerability-takes-down-google/

And by this afternoon, the pages mysteriously loaded like normal again.
I think it's been happening for longer than just a few hours since my pages exhibited degraded performances as early as Friday of last week.
