GT-AXE11000 - VLAN ID for cityfibre ONT

Unscathed

New Around Here
Hey all,

Just looking for some advice before I take a dive in.

I'm currently looking at the GT-AXE11000, however, this model doesn't support setting a VLAN ID for internet access.
I came across asuswrt-merlin, from my understanding, this would allow for VLAN ID setup via CLI but haven't been able to find anything in the documents (I'm probably just looking in the wrong place) on how to achieve this.

Just looking for some guidance on achieving this, I have an ONT provided by cityfibre which requires a VLAN ID of 911 for internet access

Even if you don't use the Merlin firmware there's methods for connection. IIRC with the old firmware you'd do this through LAN settings.
The settings are there, and many members are using asus routers with Cityfibre without issue.
Jump right in. We'll help with settings when you're ready.

Is this what your looking for? LAN --> IPTV --> Select ISP Profile --> Manual Setting --> Internet --> VID
Enter the VLAN ID under "VID" for my Bell ISP it was VLAN 35

Asus GT-AXE11000 model was released in 2021 and it's based entirely on GT-AX11000 from 2018. The only hardware difference is in one of the BCM43684 radios on the AXE variant - it's tuned for 6GHz band. There are software differences around AXE support.

You were right on the money with this one, big thanks!

I know some are mentioning to go for a newer model, however, for me this was the best for me in terms of finance at this time as I grabbed it for £200

A little battle getting it connected, ended up needing to get my ISP to whitelist the router but all up and running and it's working fantastically

No blankspots, devices getting better WiFi strength and physical rate, so far a positive change from my TPLink VR600 AC2100
