I have tested this with just me as the client (no others jumping on and taking up bandwidth in the evening)
The AiProtection on the Ai router is industrial grade.
I have all protection turned off (has never been turned on...yet)The AiProtection on the Ai router is industrial grade. I only have two of the four options on, because the other two match what the typical AiProtection protects with 3 toggle switches....
(Sorry if I've forgotten whether you turned AiProtection on or off now)...
Good ideas. I can try that this evening. Thanks! The channel bandwidth is shared between all users, not only between your devices. This includes your neighbors' devices using the same channel. If you have evenings only issues:
- Test with both wired and wireless client for connection method and specific client issues
- Set both ISP gateway and ASUS router on same channels for channel bandwidth issues
- Test at the same time of the day both ISP gateway and ASUS for ISP congestion issues
- Test with different websites for specific website issue at this specific time of the day
If nothing makes it better - the user experience is what counts. Replace the ASUS router with something providing better user experience or you. Latest, greatest and the most expensive doesn't guarantee it.
Sure. What exactly industry?
Yeah, it's weird. It loads very fast during the day, then at night it becomes unresponsive...very slow. I don't think it's ISP traffic because all other websites and speedtests are fast on the BE19 at night. If I switch to the ATT router at night, the site loads fast. So, it seems to be something within the BE19 that is slowing it down...but I have all AI protection turned off for now.I have this router BE19000AI (firmware 3.0.0.6.102_40383-g12871f8_1514-g9376d_BB0B) , just went to chaturbate to test, everything is loading super fast. I have all AI protection turned on, I have adguard home set up, WAN DNS and DHCP DNS is set to AdGuard Home's IP address, so all go through adguard home. VPN is on for all devices, have about 5 to 6 block lists on. I have to assume maybe its dns on your end? try to enable adguard home, I have 3 upstreams in parallel mode.
How do I do that? I have all AIProtection disabled:Did you withdraw from the AiP license as well ?
Have to do both to effectively remove it. And reboot after.
I'll give it a go. I am at my wits' end with this. I still can't figure out why the BE19 absolutely crawls, but my modem's wifi is fine. If I withdraw from the license, will I lose the ability to do firmware upgrades? Or can I still do them, just has to be manual?@AlphaGator1 Probably what @degrub is mentioning is under -> Settings -> Administration -> Policy (far upper right)
Figured it out. I had to disable DNS Advertisement on the BE19000AI (Settings > LAN > DHCP Server > Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS = No). I also manually set the DNS to Google (but I had tried this before). It's supposed to be the best at changing channels to avoid noise, but I still suspect noise may be your issue, (just haven't found the source yet)...

As you suggested, I did isolated testing with nothing connected to the BE19 other than my desktop. Same behavior...BGW is instant refresh, BE19 very slow or unresponsive. This typically only happens in the evenings, but I was on 6 Ghz (BE19) and 5 Ghz (BGW) with zero channel interference when I tested (I am fairly far from any neighbors...too far for 6 or 5 Ghz).
So, it was DNS interception/redirection from the ASUS, despite setting the DNS manually.
Thanks to all for all the recommendations!
I added the ATT local DNS which is assigned if you accept it. The primary one interestingly is listed as lower latency than Google
Interesting. I did grab the latest firmware from yesterday. I might try the ATT DNS again now that I know the router won't be intercepting it.Thank you for coming back and sharing the issue!
Not sure if you got it already but there was a new firmware released 2/10. While I greedily downloaded and installed it, I did not read the release notes carefully....
The Dashboard DNS comparator is nice. I added the ATT local DNS which is assigned if you accept it. The primary one interestingly is listed as lower latency than Google, so mine are now custom 68.94.156.8 and 8.8.8.8 . To verify which is truly faster change both primary and secondary in WAN to different DNS, as the primary and secondary seem to slow the test results of the two respectively.
I have the WAN IPv4 DNS set to those two as mentioned. But I was fearful to touch any LAN settings, as IPv6 seems very sensitive to changes, if you are so inclined to enable it...
