How can I have the browser to remember the login credentials

Hi all, I ran the 378.55 betas and now the stable release of that version. Since the new login page was implemented my browser (Firefox) does not remember the credentials.
Is there a way to (re)activate this in 378.55?

Hi, I have the same question ..... and also why is the password limited to 14 char ?

You've possibly seen JohnNerd's reply to the same question posted by GSpock in the 378.55 thread:

It is a feature. Nothing wrong.

I'm guessing, but it may be there to help protect you from yourself, especially as you now have to manually enter the password each time. I know that if I have a password longer than around 10 characters and if I've foolishly, unnecessarily included obscure special characters or not selected easy-to-read characters in the password policy, it might take me 3 or 4 attempts to get it right.

Where my password is stored in hashed form (crackable at billions of guesses a second by powerful computers) by a site such as ebay or Amazon I will use long passwords and special characters, but where a hacker can only guess at a password and then must enter it directly and, crucially, wait a few seconds to see if it worked before guessing again, I now consider my convenience as by far the over-riding factor. (Of course, if I can copy and paste the password from my password manager, there isn't a problem, but I've noticed a increasing number of apps seem to be preventing the pasting feature.)

FYI

A massive brute force on your router's password doesn't have to be done on line. I'm by no means an expert but if you look at YouTube videos showing how it can be done and what the hacker does. Basically what they is monitor your connection, look at the hash table generated when someone does try and log in and then does so. They take the end result and go back to their very powerful computer and start trying every password under the son until they find one that generates the same result. This still can take years or centuries depending on the complexity and length of your password but it doesn't have to be tested one by one against your network. If you don't have a strong password a dictionary attack checking 100,000 common passwords can be completed in just seconds.

Again if you are interested on this type of attack is done research it and get a more complete and accurate explanation of how it works.

Ok, thanks guys for your answers. Not happy but can live with it.
Just makes the inbuilt 'Remember Password' function of many Browsers more and more useless, one website at a time.

You still have the option of using a Password Manager like LastPass or PasswordBox. Not exactly sure if it works with all of them, but there are reports that LastPass is working and I'm personally using PasswordBox and it works as well!

Safari doesn't seem to have any problems with the new login page on the Mac with stored credentials.

I am using KeePass for all my ThingsToRemember things, and it even works with browser ingegration. But not with the new login page.
