How to turn of b, g wifi signal

Is there a way to Disable legacy 802.11b data rates (1, 2, 5.5, and 11 mbps). Disabling slower data rates will force all devices to either talk faster, or disassociate from the network, which will increase overall network performance true or not? Right now i have N/AC but still the program i use say that b, g signal is in use on my Router and AP?

What router? What firmware?

The Wireless Mode should be left on Auto for best performance. You cannot disable legacy rates.

What you can do is not provide passwords to legacy devices.

If you don't connect any legacy devices to your network, the indicated legacy data rates are only informative and do not slow down your network at all.

Legacy devices are A, B and G. Get a separate router for legacy devices for G devices and cascade the router to your main router. Set your main router to N only on 2.4GHz and only connect N devices. Don't connect your legacy devices to the main router and they won't have the password saved within the device. They are not saved within the router.
